Training
An important aspect of DEGUWA's activities is the enhancement of training in underwater archaeology:
| Through NAS courses participants can hone their skills in underwater archaeological practise and theory. This training scheme is internationally accepted and facilitates in many cases a participation in underwater archaeological projects. It is open for both laymen and (nascent) professionals and is well suited to archaeology students. | The VDST special brevet 'Denkmal- gerechtes Tauchen' was designed for recreational and sport divers to encourage responsible diving at sites of archaeological potential. This brevet provides also an insight into the fascinating world of underwater archaeology. |
Training schedule
All courses are held by experts. Dates are usually arranged on short notice and comply to requests of individuals and associations. The tutors of the DEGUWA are quite flexible in regard of time and place. Most courses are held on weekends or on bank holidays.
